Eva Omaghomi and Sir Idris Elba have teamed up as Executive Producers to mark 50 years of The King's Trust with an exclusive documentary about the charity's global impact.
First launched in 1976, the King’s Trust (formerly the Prince’s Trust) is a charity founded by King Charles III that supports vulnerable young people aged 11 to 30, who are dealing with a range of difficulties, including education, homelessness, unemployment, disabilities, and the law. Today, the charity works in 25 countries and has helped 1.5million people to learn, earn and thrive.
Sir Idris Elba credits the Trust with changing the course of his life when he received a £1500 grant to attend the National Youth Music Theatre when he was 18-years old.
The film is being made by Sir Idris' production company, 22 Summers and will stream globally on Netflix in Autumn 2026.
“The King’s Trust gave me an opportunity that changed my life. At a time when I didn’t have the resources to pursue my ambitions, they offered real, practical support — including financial help — that helped me take those first steps to advance my career.”
