CNN Global Perspectives: Reclaiming Luxury

CNN’s flagship Global Perspectives series brings together senior voices from business, media and public life to discuss leadership, influence and the changing global landscape.

In November 2025, its Africa edition featured a programme of events centred on the theme of Reclaiming Luxury, with Eva Omaghomi serving as advisor, curator and moderator.

Eva’s panel featured respected cultural voices Lulu Shabell, Founder of Lulubell Group, Samallie Kiyingi, Co-Chair of the Tate Africa Acquisitions Committee, and Thelma West, Founder of Thelma West Diamonds. Together, they explored how African creativity, culture and craftsmanship continue to shape the world’s understanding of luxury.

Eva also took to the stage to interview acclaimed fashion designer Ozwald Boateng, who challenged traditional Western-centric definitions of luxury while highlighting African craftsmanship and heritage.
